There are many reasons your client POS may not open on your machine. Most of the time they are due to networking issues or firewall problems. This is a little more unique.
This will work for the following unique situation: If you rename your PC and/or host PC (WS1) that the POS system is on, you will most likely get the following error:

If you get this error and it's because you or someone else you know changed the name of your PC, you will need to do the following:
1) copy file called, "hosts" located in the "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" folder to the desktop.
2) Open file in text editor such as notepad.
3) Delete the last line if it reads like follows:
::1 localhost
4) Type the IP address of server machine (WS1) followed by a tab and then, "ReceivingPOS", on the last line as follows (make sure you enter a tab between the IP address and the description):
192.168.1.6 ReceivingPOS
5) Save file and close it.
6) Copy file back into the folder it was obtained from (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) and select, "Copy and Replace".
7) In the, "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc", folder, rename the file named, "WSActivity", to "NWSActivity".
Now try opening your client POS system. It should work, however, if not, please give me a call.
