QuickBooks Systems are not always straight forward

While there are many companies using QuickBooks today, there just as many companies who fall into one of four categories:

QuickBooks POS and McAfee

Sometimes, firewall programs just don't seem to talk nice with programs you need to use. For instance, I've had two clients who have had issues with McAfee recently where they need to download a removal tool right from McAfee's web site in order to "properly" remove the program (kind of strange that you would need to have a separate program just to remove it).

Screen flicker

I just upgraded to IE 8.0 on my developer machine and my screen started flickering. The first thing I thought was, "Well, it must be the IE 8.0; something must be wrong with it or some setting must need to be changed." So I searched throughout the internet looking for a proper diagnosis. 

Web Connector Nag Screen

Don't like the "Web Connector" nag screen coming up every time you log into or turn on your PC? As long as nothing is using it, simply remove it from your Windows "Startup" folder.

How to access the Weight, Height, Length and Width fields in POS

The only way to view the weight, length, width and height are to go into list view, right-click on the header and click, “customize columns” and add them respectfully to the column list. They are used in conjunction with the Web interface (no longer available) and I believe that the shipping manager grabs that data when you ship via that interface. You can edit those amounts as follows:

Sales Tax Calculator for MN

This link will allow you to look up the sales tax area for a specific area based on the 9-digit zipcode. Don't know the zipcode? There is also a lookup for 9-digit zipcodes by address. Remember, Minnesota has increased the state sales tax has been increased to 6.875% on July 1st, 2009
